The Programs We Are Building
BoatLife Foundation was formed on July 22, 2026. Everything on this page is a plan we intend to deliver, described honestly as a plan. When a program starts serving people, this page will say so and will say when.
How to read this page
Three honest labels, and what each one actually means
Nonprofit websites tend to blur the line between what an organization does and what it hopes to do. We would rather be plain about it, so every program below carries one of these three labels.

- Active build work by our founding team. Nothing is available to the public yet, and no release date has been set.
- Seeking partners2 programs
- These are shaped well enough to run. What they need is a marina, club, school, municipality, or sponsor willing to be first.
- Planned7 programs
- Each of these is named in our founding program plan. Design work, partners, and funding are all still ahead of them.
None of these labels means operating. As of today BoatLife Foundation has run no program, served no participant, and published no program results. The 6 focus areas these programs sit under are described on our mission page.

Technology & Innovation
Open tools that put better safety and conditions information in boaters' hands.
Our founding team builds software. We intend to apply that directly, developing and releasing practical tools for hazard awareness, conditions reporting, and safety education rather than treating technology as an afterthought.

Coastal Cleanup Programs
Organized shoreline and waterway cleanups with measurable, published results.
Community cleanups that record what is collected and where, so the data supports longer-term policy and prevention work instead of ending at the dumpster.

Community Outreach
Direct presence at the ramps, marinas, and events where boaters actually are.
Safety information delivered in person, at the point of use, in partnership with the businesses and clubs that boaters already trust.

07 programs labeled Planned
Recreational Boating Safety
Safety instruction and refresher training for new and returning boaters, delivered with local partners.
Most recreational boating incidents involve operators who never took a formal safety course. We plan to work with marinas, clubs, and state agencies to make quality instruction easier to reach and harder to skip, with a focus on first-season boaters and operators returning after long gaps.

Life Jacket Initiatives
Loaner stations and fitted life jackets for children and families at public access points.
A correctly fitted life jacket is the single most effective piece of safety equipment on a boat, and the most commonly missing one. We plan loaner-board programs at ramps and marinas, with an emphasis on properly sized jackets for children.

Youth Waterway Education
Classroom and on-the-water learning that builds water competence early.
Programming designed for schools, camps, and youth organizations covering water safety fundamentals, local ecology, and pathways into marine trades and sciences.

Marine Conservation
Habitat protection and water quality work in partnership with established conservation groups.
We intend to support existing conservation efforts rather than duplicate them, contributing volunteer capacity, technology, and funding to organizations already doing credible work in their watersheds.

Veteran Waterway Programs
Access to the water and to marine trades for veterans and their families.
Our founder is a veteran. We plan programming that connects veterans to time on the water, to peer community, and to training pathways in the marine industry.

Emergency Preparedness
Helping boaters and waterfront communities prepare before conditions turn.
Practical preparedness resources covering float plans, weather judgment, communications equipment, and what to do when something goes wrong offshore or on inland water.

Waterway Accessibility
Reducing the cost, knowledge, and physical barriers that keep people off the water.
Boating has grown expensive and insular. We plan work on adaptive access for people with disabilities, low-cost entry pathways, and better public access information.

A program plan becomes a program when someone shows up
Every card on this page is waiting on the same three things: a partner site, funding, and people willing to give their time. Founding supporters get to decide which of these launches first, on which water, and how we report the results.
If you run a marina, club, school, watershed group, or veteran organization, or if your company funds safety and conservation work, we would like to hear which of these matters most to you.
