Terms of Service

Short, plain terms for an informational nonprofit website. By using this site, you agree to them.

Last updated: July 22, 2026

This website exists to explain who we are and what we are trying to build. It is not a substitute for training, for official navigation information, or for professional advice.

Who these terms are with

This site is published by BoatLife Foundation, a NJ Nonprofit Corporation, based in Holmdel, New Jersey. BoatLife Foundation is a New Jersey nonprofit corporation and has applied for recognition as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.In these terms, “we” and “us” mean that organization, and “you” means anyone using the site.

What this site is

Everything here is provided for general information about our mission, programs, and plans. BoatLife Foundation was formed on July 22, 2026 and describes much of its work as planned or in development. Where a page says a program is planned, it is a statement of intent, not a promise that it will launch, launch on a schedule, or launch in a particular place.

Safety information is not training

We write about boating safety and waterway conditions. That material is educational and general. It is not a certified safety course, not a navigational aid, and not a substitute for current official information from the United States Coast Guard, the National Weather Service, or your state boating authority. You are responsible for the safety of your vessel, your passengers, and yourself. Always check current conditions and follow the law where you are operating.

Please do not:

  • Use the site for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that interferes with anyone else’s use of it.

If we ever want to quote or publish something you sent, we will ask you first. Please do not send us confidential material or anything you do not have the right to share. Links to other sites

We sometimes link to other organizations and agencies. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices. A link is not an endorsement of everything on the other end of it.

Contributions

Where this site describes support for our work, any contribution is voluntary and is subject to the terms presented at the time it is arranged. We will confirm the details of a gift in writing before it is processed.

Availability and accuracy

We keep this site accurate and current to the best of our ability, and we correct mistakes when we find them. Even so, the site is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. Changes

We may update these terms as the organization grows and the site changes. The date at the top shows when they were last revised. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
